In July of 2003 (Advisory notice #03-57, dated 7/15/03) clearing member firms were informed that it was procedure of the Clearing House to call firms to confirm their oldest long dates.  This memo is to remind all firms that this will no longer be a practice of CME Clearing House. 

As February 5, 2007 will be the first intent date for Live Cattle and Pork Bellies, firms are being reminded to use the “Forecast Inquiry” function in the delivery system.  This function allows the firms to view their impending assignments.  We are strongly encouraging delivery personnel to check the Deliveries System for any possible assignments upon determining the quantity of intents from the Clearing House on a particular delivery day.  Therefore, it is imperative that your firm update their long positions before by the assignment deadline for the respective contracts.
